Episode 245 - Guild M-75 Bluesbird

Guild, like many instrument manufacturers, felt compelled to react when Gibson unveiled the Les Paul in 1952. So they designed a guitar that remained hollow, albeit with no f-holes. It was smaller in size than their usual jazz guitars, yet significantly lighter weight than the Les Paul. It was called the Aristocrat; its model designation was M-75. By the time the M-75 was first discontinued, it had undergone many changes. Just about everything but the shape of the body had been tinkered with. Our example is from 1972 - a solidbody called the Bluesbird. Enjoy!

Beverages!

Podcasting is thirsty work; it’s crucial that everyone involved stay hydrated. The following fine beverages contributed to the success of this episode: Ed had a small vial-like container that was supposedly a Vitamin C beverage. He eventually admitted that the primary flavor was beets. John had a Roar organic juice. Mango and Clementine!
