Episode 211 - 1961 Epiphone Olympic Special with Jason Verlinde of The Fretboard Journal

This week special guest Jason Verlinde of the Fretboard Journal tells us all about the prettiest, most substantive guitar magazine on the planet. Started in 2005, it has become as authoritative and respected as it is beautiful. Trust us when we say you should subscribe to this one. While he’s here, Jason helps us attempt to make sense out of why Gibson, shortly after buying Epiphone, would create an instrument so similar to one already in its own product line as to be identical, with the sole exception of having a headstock shaped like an inverted butt. Enjoy!

Beverages!

Podcasting is thirsty work; it’s crucial that everyone involved stay hydrated. The following fine beverages contributed to the success of this episode: Special Guest Jason Verlinde of the Fretboard Journal came duly prepared with a Kombucha Town lavender beverage. This week, Ed had a non-alcoholic gin & tonic. He reports it to have smelled like juniper berries. John had a Topo Chico water, with a twist of grapefruit. It seems to have given him the right amount of vim.
