Episode 126 - The Harmony Buck Owens American

Where to begin with the giant that was Buck Owens. He was a driving force behind the Bakersfield Sound, he was an astute man of business, he was on Hee-Haw. But most importantly, the man could play a guitar. Like the one we discussed in this episode, The Buck Owens American. Buck chose Harmony to make this instrument, and long after it was discontinued, it has remained an object of fascination for musicians.

Beverages!

Podcasting is thirsty work; it’s crucial that everyone involved stay hydrated. The following fine beverage contributed to the success of this episode: It was a great day for water. Ed used his Sodastream contraption to dial in a sparkling water drink with real fruit stuff in it. Yum. John cracked open a fine cherry flavored Bubly water, then discovered it to be a Pepsi product. Thankfully, it contains no big corn. Close call. This week’s beverage intro song clip, performed live in-studio (mostly) was Act Naturally by Buck Owens.
